Privacy Policy
The short version
- No accounts. There is no signup, no login, and no user profile stored anywhere.
- No data collection. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third party SDKs.
- Everything is local. Your closet, wear logs, photos, friendship levels, coins, and settings are stored only on your device.
- We never see your data. Because nothing leaves your device, the developer has no access to your information whatsoever.
What the app stores (on your device only)
Dilly&Dally saves the following on your device so the app works between launches. None of it is transmitted off your device:
- Your closet: the garments you add, their names, colors, types, and the photos you attach.
- Activity: wear logs, streaks, friendship levels, and coin balances.
- Preferences: settings such as haptics, notifications, and recap toggles.
- Purchases: a record of which cosmetic items you own, derived from your App Store purchase history.
This information lives in the app’s private storage on your device and, for the lock screen “out with you” Live Activity, in a private App Group shared only between Dilly&Dally and its own widget on the same device. It is never uploaded to a server.
Photos and camera
You can take a photo or import one from your library to attach to a closet piece. Those photos are saved on your device as part of your closet and are never uploaded or shared. If a photo lives in your iCloud Photo Library, iOS may download it so the app can read it; it still stays on your device within the app. The app asks for camera and photo access only when you use those features. If you choose to share a photo or a keepsake card using the system share sheet, it goes only where you send it.
Purchases
Optional purchases inside the app (cosmetics) are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your name, card, or billing details. Apple only tells the app whether an item was purchased. There are no subscriptions. Apple’s handling of your purchase information is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Notifications and Live Activities
Reminders and the lock screen “out with you” Live Activity are scheduled locally on your device. There is no push notification server, and no device token or data is sent to us to power them.
No tracking
Dilly&Dally does not track you across other apps or websites, does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), and does not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt, because there is nothing to track.
Children’s privacy
Dilly&Dally does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because it collects no personal information and transmits nothing off the device, there is no personal data to gather, store, or disclose about any user, of any age.
Deleting your data
Your data lives on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. Deleting the app removes all of its data. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on your behalf.
Third parties
The only third party involved is Apple: for App Store purchases, and for the standard iOS features (camera, photo library, notifications) that you invoke and that run on your device. No advertising networks or analytics providers are used.
Your privacy rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act give you rights over personal data a company holds about you: the right to access it, correct it, delete it, or take it with you. Because Dilly&Dally collects nothing, there is no personal data on our side to request. Everything already sits on your device, fully under your control. If you have questions about any of this, email support@dilly-dally.app.
